Our Toddler Program
The toddler has reached the age where independence and self expression are of great importance. Building on these "I want to be independent" skills, children can start learning self help skills such as changing thei shoes, dressing, feeding and eventually, in our Toddler 2 program, start toilet training. Each child learns at their own developmental rate, so there is no exact time when these "moments" will occur. Parallel and social play become very evident at this stage and children will start to play alongside one another and then together. With different centers set p in the toddler rooms, children will have the opportunity to learn through this center based play. These may include Housekeeping, Kitchen, Story Center, Book Center and Puzzles. Outdoor time is offered starting in our Toddler Rooms. The children go out to the playground two times a day, weather permitting. At this age the children will start to sit through a circle time activity where they will sing songs, dance, learn their colors, shapes and numbers. Through repetition and consistency, your toddler will become eager to express themselves and learn! Toddler Room 1 Ms. Gina- Assistant Teacher My name is Gina.
